Proposals Update

Following the extraordinary general meeting held on 11 May 2009 the Board has had extensive discussions with parties representing a significant proportion of the Company''s issued share capital. As a result of these discussions, the Board intends to recommend new proposals to shareholders for a split of the Company''s portfolio into a realisation portfolio and a continuation portfolio with shareholders on the register at 5.00 pm on 16 July 2009 being given the opportunity to choose (subject to certain limits) in which portfolio(s) they wish to be invested and thereby whether or not to stay invested in the Company. It is expected that the initial net asset value per share of the realisation portfolio will be valued at a 15% discount to the net asset value per share of the Company at the calculation date for the split, thereby leading to a higher initial net asset value per share of the continuation portfolio.

The Company is currently preparing documentation in relation to the proposals and is in the final stages of negotiating new portfolio management arrangements. The Board expects to send a circular containing full detail to shareholders by the end of July and a further announcement will be made at that time.
