Market Voice July 01, 2008 Vietnam shares end +2.4% at 419.29 on continued local
buying after yesterday''s announcement 1H economic growth slowed to 6.5% (vs
7.9% in 1H07) suggests government will be successful in cooling overheated
economy, dampening double-digit inflation. "That 6.5% growth was very positive
news, and market participants share the view that buying sentiment is also
being boosted by a new government determination to prevent companies from
over-issuing new shares and strengthen financial transparency of companies,"
says trader; expects key index to hit 440 soon.

Vietnam shares +2.3% at 429.17 on continued local buying
as state media remains upbeat in commentary that government is making progress
in stabilizing economy; market is now +9.5% so far this week (including today),
a turnaround from big June weakness. "Buying sentiment is further improving and
some securities firms have predicted the key index to hit 450 soon," says
trader; says net foreign buying this week to spur local interest.

Foreign investors were net buyers of VND17.1 billion
($1.03 million) of Vietnamese stocks Thursday, out of a total of VND242 billion
traded.
Volume traded totaled 8.88 million shares, with foreigners accounting for
26.8%.

Vietnam shares end off 0.9% at 435.89 on local
profit-taking after prices rose over past ten straight sessions. "Buying
sentiment was very strong, leading to record trading volume and value unseen in
the last five months," says trader, expecting correction to be short-lived as
number of players returning to market continues to increase.
Volume high at 26.3 million shares worth VND870 billion.
