Cement prices were estimated to have increased 3.3 percent from 2017 to 2018. In comparison, cement prices decreased by 10.3 percent between 2015 and 2016. It is projected that prices will grow by 3.9 percent between 2019 and 2020.

How does the global cement market look?

Demand for cement between 2014 and 2017 was lower due to the slowing of growth in China and a decline in oil prices that led to weaker economic activity in emerging markets. However, mature markets have since improved and are experiencing new market growth while the supply-demand balances in emerging markets are also improving. Cement prices can vary across many regions due to trade environments, input costs, and demand and supply, among other factors.

Cement prices in the United States

In the United Sates, the prices of construction materials can vary greatly. Similarly to global prices, the percentage change of cement prices in the U.S. is expected to grow due to a healthy and thriving construction industry.
