Market commentary ?" The HCMC market made the decisive breakthrough today punching above the 50 day moving average in very strong volume. Hanoi however did see some profit taking and the index dipped slightly mainly because of ACB?Ts sluggish movement today. To be fair the Hanoi market has been leading the way recently and broke through its own 50 days moving average some days ago and was due for a pause today.



Foreigners were very heavy net buyers today, acknowledging the importance of the technical breakthrough. Market breadth was narrower than yesterday with more selling, especially amongst smaller cap stocks. However blue chips were very strong across the board with large trading volumes which is a clear sign of heavy institutional buying.



Today then was another important day in the current rally and confirmed that we will see further upside in the days ahead. Don?Tt be surprised however to see a small pullback in a day or two. Given the current supply and demand dynamics, however any weakness is likely to be used as an entry point for latecomers and the upward trend is now confirmed. The rally is clearly still on.
